Caring Cities: Urbanism and Cognitive Health

Daniel López Gómez is Director of the CareNet research group at the UOC and a professor in the Faculty of Psychology and Education Sciences at the same university. His research lies at the intersection of technology, society, and ageing; in particular, he examines how new residential environments and digital technologies—developed in response to demographic challenges—are transforming care practices, social relationships, and our understanding of old age.

Since 2021, she has been part of the architecture and landscape team at ACPA – Ana Coello Paisatge i Arquitectura, where she has participated in several public space projects such as Plaça de les Glòries in Barcelona, the Green Axes of Barcelona (C. Borrell Street), and two fully accessible children’s play areas in Barcelona.

Film critic and radio host.
He has spent decades talking and writing about cinema. He has collaborated in print, radio, and television, especially at Catalunya Ràdio, where he directed and hosted La finestra indiscreta. He has also worked at TV3 and the Sitges Film Festival, and has participated in various projects promoting Catalan cinema.

Architect specialized in accessibility.
Architect graduated from the Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya and holder of a master’s degree in urban design from Harvard University. His career combines architecture with a commitment to universal accessibility, also informed by his personal experience with reduced mobility. He works to promote more inclusive, sustainable environments designed for everyone.

Managing Director, Barcelona Public Health Agency (2015–2025).
She holds a degree in Medicine, a PhD in Public Health, and is a specialist in Preventive Medicine and Public Health as well as in Family and Community Medicine. She worked at the Barcelona Public Health Agency until 2025, serving as Managing Director for the last ten years. Her work has covered multiple areas of public health. Her research focuses on the study of social determinants of health; she has led research groups on this topic, coordinated several national and international projects, and published numerous scientific articles. She is President of the Dinamo Foundation, which promotes cooperative housing under a right-of-use model.
