Black Butterflies

Inspired by three true stories, we follow the lives of Tanit, Vanesa, and Shaila; they don’t know each other, but they have one thing in common: their homes, towns, and communities are being shaken by the effects of climate change and global warming. When your environment falls apart around you, you are forced to migrate in order to survive. This is the story of thousands of people, and in the future, it could also be ours.

Acció>Cinema is a project led by Catalunya Film Festivals, with the collaboration of the Catalan Agency for Development Cooperation of the Department of the European Union and Foreign Action, and in partnership with Lafede. The project promotes audiovisual media as a tool for building an informed, critical, and engaged citizenry committed to a more just world. We connect the world of cooperation with cinema, audiences and reality, critical analysis and action. Because in a global world, solutions are global.
