“Incontrolable” wins the 16th Solé Tura Award for Best Feature Film and the Audience Award at Brain Film Fest 2026

The Brain Film Fest 2026 closed its ninth edition with the presentation of the 16th Solé Tura Awards, held at the Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona. The festival, promoted by the Fundació Pasqual Maragall and co-organised with Minimal Films, welcomed more than 5,000 attendees — a 20% increase compared to last year.

The Best Feature Film award went to Incontrolable (I Swear), directed by Kirk Jones and inspired by the real-life story of John Davidson, an advocate living with Tourette syndrome. The film also received the Audience Award.

In the short film category, the Solé Tura Award went to Trece gatos, by David Gaspar, while the Audience Award went to Los perdedores, by Jesús Melgares.

The festival also presented its Special Brain Film Fest 2026 Award to filmmaker Carla Simón.
